I have always been fearful of making bread. Don't laugh. I don't know why maybe getting the right temp of the water and using yeast. I have heard horror stories of people taking all this time and then the dough not rising, etc. I can't waste all that time and or money on ingread for it to be a flop, ya know. So I have avoided it. I really would love to make it and all but could not get the courage up.
Well, I got the above bread machine as a hand me down from my Mom after I got married. I have lugged this puppy through 2 states and 5 moves over the last 8 years. I never used it until about two weeks ago. I was really wanting to be domestic and make bread. How scary can bread be in a bread machine, right. Well, I dump all the ingreds in it and I hear it do it's magic and I take a peek after an hour and notice nothing is mixed up. So I look through the users manual wondering if I missed something. Ah ha, the missing piece was a kneading hook. Bummer, I lost it along the way I guess. I was so sad that I wasted all the ingreds and thus made me remember why I don't make bread...
So today I call to buy the missing part. The sucker is $27.99. For a little part. A very important part but still. I said, "I don't think so." So I have this hunking bread machine that does not work. I put it on freecycle to get rid of and now will be on a hunt for a good deal or one at a yard sale or something.
