Helping Tennessee Storm/Tornado Victims

Here are some donation collections happening in Knoxville for tornado relief in Tennessee.
There is a donation collection in front of Hardin Valley Elementary this Friday, May 6th from 6:30-7:00pm and Saturday, May 7th from 10:00-10:30am. They are asking NOT for clothing donations. They are wanting baby items, diapers, formula, wipes, food, toiletry items, and water. They donations will be split between Cleveland, TN & areas in Alabama.
107.7 WIVK is doing a Charity Drive and will help out Tennessee Storm Victims. This will be at Turkey Creek Walmart in Knoxville on Monday, May 9th from 6-10 AM. They are requesting water, new blankets and new pillows as well as “comfort care items” ( toothpaste toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, lotions, deodorant, germ x, new towels, wet wipes, and diapers.
UT Knoxville and UT Athletics will team up to help residents of the East Tennessee counties that suffered massive damage during last week’s severe weather.
From 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, the UT Volunteers football truck will be parked at the Regal Soccer Stadium on Stephenson Drive, off Neyland Drive. UT staff and students will be on-hand to accept donations, sort, and load the truck which will driven to a Salvation Army distribution center on Wednesday. Items will be provided to people in need from Bradley, Greene, Hamilton, and Washington counties.
Items specifically requested include:
Household cleaning supplies
Bottled water
New underwear
Infant supplies, such as formula, diapers, and baby wipes
Towels and wash cloths
Toiletries – preferably in trial sizes
Batteries
Flashlights
Tarps
Duct tape
1st Baptist Church in Seymour is collecting donations for storm victims in Apison, TN
located on Chapman Hwy. They have been asked to specifically collect bottled water, aluminum foil, garbage bags and tarps they will also accept other items. they have trucks set up in their parking lot.
The Salvation Army of Knoxville thrift stores are taking donations except furniture for the tornado victims of Tennessee.
