Get Clean – Ingredients Glossary

Before I started the Shaklee review I was asked to look under my sink to see what shocked me the most. The first cause of concern was that on some products there are no ingredients listed and/or it was really hard to find any information on the specific products websites. Which is rather alarming. As I looked deeper though I saw they include things found in them like : sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid. All of which are NOT good for my family or the environment. It really has me considering using something that is green and organic like Shaklee products even more now.

For the review I used the Shaklee Concentrated Laundry Detergent and Dryer Sheets for the first time yesterday. First of all when it says the detergent is concentrated it means it – my laundry load only took 1ounce! I actually liked that it wasn’t an overwhelming scent either. It’s not a flowery or perfume type scent that most detergent brands offer – its just very very clean smelling. It seemed to clean our clothes just as good as any other detergent and my husband probably likes that his clothes don’t smell girly now – just clean :) The biggest surprise? We were just talking the other day that we may need to run a load of water and vinegar through because our machine was beginning to have that real funky smell they all get from time to time after a lot of use and build up. Now we don’t have too! One load washed in the Shaklee Concentrated Detergent and that smell is gone!! Sine I used so little of the laundry detergent it will save me money in  the long run since I only have to use a little with each load.

I also used the Shaklee Dryer Sheets. Again not a smell like I am used too, but clean. And again that probably makes my husband very happy actually. They have a very different feel compared to other dryer sheets – almost paper like – but they seemed to soften up our clothes just as much as other brands we have used that aren’t green and organic. There was another nice surprise here too. I purposefully threw in a couple of fleece throws with our towels – both of which can create a lot of static electric cling on their own but even more when dried together. When I pulled the fleece throws out one by one there was a lot less static cling! There were hardly any pops and snaps to speak of – and definitely much less than with our normal dryer sheets in fact. I was impressed.

I need a green cleaning makeover!! The cleaners I have, I have to use very little of because of the strong smells. Me and my daughter have environmental allergies.

chlorine bleach is a big culprit. I got rid of most of the others as we are switching to green products, but I haven’t replaced most of what I got rid of.

I have been saying for some time that I wanted to replace a lot of my cleaner. I have some, but I have put off replacing a lot of them. This would be a perfect way to get me started.

I got some samples at a conference and of course they have been sitting on my desk for a month. In an unfocused moment, I decided to start looking at the stuff just the other day. It’s pretty interesting, so I enoyed reading your review.

I would TOTALLY love to try out the new Shaklee items. My mom used them when we were kids, I’d love to see how they have improved and changed their items over the years!

I would love to turn totally green with my cleaning products! My husbands grandmother moved in with us this month and the strong smells from the cleaning supplies irritates her sinuses. We also have many pets and are worried about them licking the floor, bathtub, etc. and ingesting the toxins from our cleaning supplies!
